Nominations are open for the 2026 Young Builder of the Year Awards

YouthBuild UK is proud to announce that nominations are now open for the 2026 Young Builder of the Year Awards.

Taking place at the House of Commons on Wednesday 18th October 2026, the awards celebrate young people across the UK who are building careers, confidence and futures through construction and the built environment.

Across the UK, construction continues to offer real opportunities for young people to develop practical skills, financial stability and long-term career pathways. At the same time, the sector faces growing workforce and skills shortages, alongside wider conversations around apprenticeships, retention and future workforce development.

The Young Builder of the Year Awards exist to recognise the young people already contributing to the future of the industry, as well as the organisations, employers and training providers helping to make those journeys possible.

YouthBuild UK is inviting nominations from:

  • employers

  • training providers

  • colleges

  • youth organisations

  • housing associations

  • apprenticeship providers

  • community organisations

  • and others supporting young people into construction and related industries

We are looking to hear about young people who have shown commitment, growth and determination in their journey so far: whether through apprenticeships, training programmes, further education, employment or alternative pathways into the sector.

Nominations are now open and will close on 10th August 2026 at 5pm.
