What You Should Know For Your Visit
We’re so excited to welcome you to the House of Commons! This is a special opportunity to celebrate the Young Builder of the Year Awards and we want you to feel comfortable, confident, and ready to enjoy the day.
What to Expect
Security checks – Everyone goes through airport-style security at the entrance. Allow a little extra time, but don’t worry – it’s all very straightforward.
Dress code – Please wear formal attire (suits, dresses, smart shoes).
Accessibility – The building is step-free and there is staff on hand to support anyone who needs assistance. If you have any specific requirements, let us know in advance.
Phones & photos – You’ll be able to take photos in most areas, but there are some restrictions inside Parliament. Our team will guide you.
Getting There
Entrance – Please arrive at the Cromwell Green Entrance (opposite Westminster Abbey).
Travel – Westminster Underground station (Circle, District, Jubilee lines) is just a short walk away.
Arrival time – Aim to arrive 20–30 minutes before the event starts so you have plenty of time to get through security and settle in.
Tips for the Day
Be prepared for some waiting while groups move through security.
The House of Commons is a working building, so you may spot MPs or even debates in action!
You’ll be surrounded by friends, supporters, and fellow YouthBuild champions – you’re in good company.
Most importantly…
This is your day. Take it all in, meet new people, celebrate your achievements – and most of all, have fun and enjoy yourself! 🎉
