What You Should Know For Your Visit

We’re so excited to welcome you to the House of Commons! This is a special opportunity to celebrate the Young Builder of the Year Awards and we want you to feel comfortable, confident, and ready to enjoy the day.

What to Expect

  • Security checks – Everyone goes through airport-style security at the entrance. Allow a little extra time, but don’t worry – it’s all very straightforward.

  • Dress code – Please wear formal attire (suits, dresses, smart shoes).

  • Accessibility – The building is step-free and there is staff on hand to support anyone who needs assistance. If you have any specific requirements, let us know in advance.

  • Phones & photos – You’ll be able to take photos in most areas, but there are some restrictions inside Parliament. Our team will guide you.

Getting There

  • Entrance – Please arrive at the Cromwell Green Entrance (opposite Westminster Abbey).

  • Travel – Westminster Underground station (Circle, District, Jubilee lines) is just a short walk away.

  • Arrival time – Aim to arrive 20–30 minutes before the event starts so you have plenty of time to get through security and settle in.

Tips for the Day

  • Be prepared for some waiting while groups move through security.

  • The House of Commons is a working building, so you may spot MPs or even debates in action!

  • You’ll be surrounded by friends, supporters, and fellow YouthBuild champions – you’re in good company.

Most importantly…

This is your day. Take it all in, meet new people, celebrate your achievements – and most of all, have fun and enjoy yourself! 🎉
