Karen is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and has spent over 25 years in the homebuilding sector currently as Deputy HR Director at Bellway Homes.

Throughout this time Karen's passion has always been supporting people to achieve their best. With a particular interest in helping young people to enter the construction sector she has served as a Trustee on the CITB Board and as a Governor for a Welsh FE College. Karen has set up formal networks for women in construction and also acted as a mentor for other women throughout her career recognised in 2023 when she won the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Women in Construction Awards.

The aims and objectives of YBUK align very closely with Karen's personal values and she is particularly keen to strengthen the charity's links with construction employers.
