1) ABOUT THE AWARDS
2010 will be the eleventh year of the Young Builder of the Year Awards, which have grown from strength to strength since inception. Each year we have received a new record number of applications from a record number of organisations. Our intention is to continue to grow the Awards, making it a highlight of the construction year. 2009 Finalists gathered on the House of Commons Terrace
The Awards celebrate the achievements of young people who despite having to overcome personal barriers have succeeded in training for and/or becoming employed in the construction industry.
In 2007 we held the Awards at the House of Commons for the first time. The venue proved to be a huge success with finalists and guests alike, who enjoyed the setting, history and the Awards! All the finalists finished their day with a trip on the London Eye, with many stating that it was a day they would never forget. We returned to the House of Commons in 2008 and 2009 and are delighted to say that the 2010 Awards will be held there on Wednesday 20th October.
